Akagi and Tonkawa Anime Stream Free on AnimeTimes YouTube

Episodes from two anime based on Nobuyuki Fukumoto's Kaiji universe are streaming for free on YouTube. AnimeTimes will host Akagi episodes 1-13 and seven selected episodes from Tonkawa on its official channel.

The free streaming window runs from February 23 to March 8, 2026.

Akagi follows Shigeru Akagi, a teenager with exceptional gambling instincts who becomes a legend in the underground mahjong world. The 2005 series features voice actors Norihito Haginara and Rikiya Koyama.

Tonkawa is a 2018 spin-off focusing on Kaiji character Yukio Tonegawa, a middle manager for the tyrannical Teiai Group. The selected episodes highlight the popular character Hanchō. The cast includes Toshiyuki Morikawa and Hiroshi Kamiya.

Both series are adapted from manga by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. The full series for both titles are available through the AnimeTimes subscription channel on Prime Video in Japan.
