Anime 'Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai' Premieres January 2026

The TV anime 'Osananajimi to wa Love Comedy ni Naranai' is set to premiere on January 5, 2026. The series will air on TV Tokyo networks and be available for streaming internationally on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and U-NEXT.

Based on the manga serialized in 'Magazine Pocket' by Shinya Sanren, the anime explores the comedic and complicated relationships between childhood friends. Directed by Satoshi Kuwahara, with series composition by Mitsutaka Hirota, the production is handled by Tezuka Productions. The opening theme, "Aira Byu(Heart)", is performed by HoneyWorks, featuring the main cast.

The story revolves around high school freshman Yu Kaito, who struggles with his feelings for his childhood friends, Shio and Akari. Despite their close interactions, Yu remains convinced that reality doesn't mirror a love comedy. However, Shio and Akari's feelings for Yu suggest otherwise.

The main cast includes Daisuke Urao as Yu Kaito, Rin Kusumi as Shio Mizumoe, Yuu Serizawa as Akari Kaito, and Sae Hiratsuka as Luna Tsukimiru. The anime will also feature a special segment titled 'Osananajimi Love Comedy Special' after each episode on AT-X, providing additional content for fans.
