Anime 'Otagal' Sets April Premiere with i-dle Opening Theme

The anime adaptation of the romantic comedy manga 'Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa Inai!?' (Otagal) will premiere on April 8, 2026. The series will air on TV Asahi and BS Asahi in Japan.

The opening theme, 'HIDE AND SEEK,' will be performed by the global K-pop group i-dle. The ending theme, 'Isshou Nakako,' is by the Japanese neo-cute rock band Sunsoo Girl (三四少女).

The promotional video and key visual for the anime have been released. The story follows otaku high school student Takuya Seo as his life intersects with two gyaru, Amana Kei and Ijichi Kotoko.

Additional cast members include Jun Kasama as Ijichi Genichiro, Yoshimi Kohara as Amamiya Sayu, Atsumi Tanezaki as Ijichi Sho, and Emiri Kato as Ijichi Hibiki.

Sunsoo Girl's new EP, 'Isshou Nakako,' containing the ending theme, will be released digitally and on CD on April 8.

A special pre-broadcast event is scheduled for March 15 at United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba in Tokyo, featuring the main cast. The event's details were announced alongside a new radio program starting April 4.

The anime is produced by TMS Entertainment's Studio 6.
