Cardfight!! Vanguard Announces New Film and 15th Anniversary TV Anime

The Cardfight. Vanguard franchise will see two major releases in 2026 and 2027. The sequel film Cardfight. Vanguard Divinez: Unmei Seisen-hen (Fate Star Battle) will have a theatrical premiere in Japan on October 2, 2026. A completely new TV anime series is also in production to mark the franchise's 15th anniversary in 2027.

The new film continues the story from Cardfight. Vanguard Divinez: Genma Seisen-hen. The plot follows protagonist Akira and others who become "Phantoms" after their city is enveloped in a strange fog and a towering structure appears. They must fight "Phantom Fighters" in this illusory world using special "Genmajuu Fighters."

Voice cast members reprising their roles include Toshiya Miyata as Akira, Jun Fukuyama as Gabrielius, and Yuuko Natsuyoshi as Kanami.

The currently airing TV anime series Cardfight. Vanguard Divinez: Genma Seisen-hen is available on multiple streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, U-NEXT, and DMM TV.

It has sold over 20 billion cards worldwide. The TCG is available in 60 countries and regions, including English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, and Thai editions. Since 2021, the series has featured character designs by the manga artist group CLAMP.
