First published in 1974, the 'Nezumi-kun' series by author Yoshio Nakae and illustrator Noriko Ueno has been a staple of Japanese childhoods for generations. The new adaptation is produced by Creadom8.

The production team stated their primary goal was to preserve the original book's gentle atmosphere and tactile quality. To achieve this, the entire series was animated using full CG techniques.

Tsuda, known for roles in Jujutsu Kaisen and Dr. Stone, voices the title character Nezumi-kun among others. Noto, whose credits include Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer, voices Nemi-chan and the remaining cast.
