DATE WARS Project Revives 2000s 'Denpa Song' Style with 'Tensai☆Sisters'

The music IP project DATE WARS has released a new original song, 'Tensai☆Sisters', and its accompanying music video.

The song is performed by the project's 2000s Timeless Travelers unit, featuring the characters Tanaka Ichiko (CV: Hanami Miharu), Tanaka Niko (CV: Seto Momoko), and Tanaka Miko (CV: Hitsuji Hina). It is available on major streaming platforms via a universal link.

The music video is now on the project's YouTube channel.

In a detailed comment, original creator Yutaro Momose framed the song as a direct descendant of the denpa song movement. He cited the genre's roots in Akihabara's subculture, its spread via early internet sharing, and the work of pioneers like MOSAIC.WAV and Momoi Haruko.

Music producer mino stated he commissioned composer Yuki Honda to create an "unapologetic" anime-style track that fully embraced the 2000s aesthetic. Honda said the chaotic nature of the three sisters' characters made the songwriting process fun and perfectly suited to the denpa genre.

The DATE WARS project, led by 'Hypnosis Mic' creator Yutaro Momose, features 14 voice actors across four decade-themed teams.
