Erika Ikuta releases new single 'Nyantokanyaruru' for children's book 'Fumikiri Neko'

Erika Ikuta's new digital single "Nyantokanyaruru" will be released worldwide on August 26. The song serves as the theme for a new children's picture book titled "Fumikiri Neko" (Railroad Crossing Cats).

The story was written by Kenta Otsuka, known for his children's tales, with illustrations by Aki Kondo, the character designer behind Rilakkuma. The story follows three cats who work as crossing guards in a story about helping others and perseverance.

Ikuta commented on the project, expressing happiness at being able to add music to the world created by Otsuka and Kondo. "I never thought I'd sing a song with so many 'nyan nyan' sounds," she said with a laugh. "I think it's a cute song packed with a view on life."

Illustrator Aki Kondo described the track as taking listeners into a cute and slightly mysterious world. "Erika Ikuta's colorful, full-of-life singing voice was very comforting and gave me a lot of energy," Kondo said.

The song "Nyantokanyaruru" was written and composed by Nyanzonu Deshi and arranged by Nozomu Tanabe. A limited-edition CD with a Blu-ray and stickers is scheduled for release in Japan on October 14.

The picture book "Fumikiri Neko" will be published in Japan on October 15, with an e-book version planned. The digital single will be available on major streaming platforms via the official lnk.to link starting August 26.
