HANA releases 'Cold Night,' the opening theme for anime 'Medalist' Season 2

The seven-member girl group HANA has released their first new song of 2026, "Cold Night." The track is the newly written opening theme for the TV anime Medalist Season 2, which premiered today.

The song premiered as a surprise on the January 9 broadcast of the radio show "HANA's All Night Nippon X." It marks a shift from the aggressive sound of their late-2025 single "NON STOP."

The digital single is available now via a universal link. A special CD release in a large, record-sized package with newly drawn anime artwork is scheduled for January 28. The CD is a limited edition priced at 1,700 yen.

HANA also confirmed details for their first album, simply titled HANA. The album will be released digitally on February 23, with CD versions following on February 25. The limited edition CD includes a Blu-ray, a photo book, and collectible cards.
