Lisa Ono features on Bajune Tobeta's 'Batucada', a tribute to Sergio Mendes

"Batucada (feat. Lisa Ono)" by producer Bajune Tobeta arrives on July 29.

The track is the first single from an upcoming, officially-sanctioned tribute album for Sergio Mendes. It reinterprets a classic song by Jorge Ben, featuring vocals from bossa nova singer Lisa Ono. The mix was handled by Paul Pritchard at London's Abbey Road Studios.

The full tribute album, "Sergio Mendes Tribute," is scheduled for release on September 4, the eve of the anniversary of Mendes's passing.

This follows a previous tribute single released in February, "The Girl From Ipanema," which featured rappers JOCA and PARKGOLF.

Bajune Tobeta is a composer and producer who began his career working under Ryuichi Sakamoto. His solo work has featured artists like Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takahashi, and Taeko Onuki. His international collaborations include work with Christian Fennesz, Joyce Moreno, and Arto Lindsay.

"Batucada (feat. Lisa Ono)" will be available on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
