Sousou no Frieren Season 2 Announced for January 2026

The anime adaptation of 'Sousou no Frieren' returns with its second season on January 16, 2026, airing every Friday at 11 PM on Nippon TV's 'Friday Anime Night'.

The manga, serialized in 'Weekly Shonen Sunday' and created by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, will release its 15th volume on December 18, 2025.

To celebrate the release of the latest manga volume and the upcoming anime season, a special bookstore novelty fair will be held across Japan. Customers purchasing selected 'Sousou no Frieren' books will receive one of eight collectible character cards. These cards feature AR technology and original voice recordings from the anime, including characters like Frieren, Himmel, Fern, and Stark.

The latest volume includes a special edition with a short story by Mei Hachime, exploring events 30 years after the death of hero Himmel. The edition is overseen by original creator Kanehito Yamada and features new illustrations by Tsukasa Abe.
