SpecialThanks Release 20th Anniversary Best Album 'YELLOW SUN -THE BEST-'

Japanese punk-pop duo SpecialThanks have released their first best-of album, YELLOW SUN -THE BEST-.

The album contains 21 tracks. Twenty are re-recorded versions of past songs with the current lineup, and one is a new original track. Guest musicians on the recordings include IYAMA on bass, TOM from STOMPIN' BIRD on guitar, Fujiwara Misaki from Sokoninaru, and saw from LONGMAN.

A crowdfunding campaign last March funded the project, reaching 157% of its goal. Vocalist and guitarist Misaki described the album as a "declaration for the future" rather than just a retrospective.

YELLOW SUN -THE BEST- is available now on major streaming and download platforms via ZULA. A physical CD is also for sale through Tower Records Online.

A world tour for the album starts May 24 in Chiba. The schedule includes over 30 dates across Japan, the United States, Taiwan, and South Korea. U.S. stops are planned for Idaho, Washington, Nevada, and California in September.

The tour concludes on November 23 at Akabane ReNY alpha in Tokyo. Ticket details for the international dates will be announced later. Japanese tour tickets are available via eplus.

SpecialThanks, formed in 2005, consists of Misaki Anita (vocals, guitar) and Yoshida Takaaki (drums, chorus).
