YOSHIKI to Receive US Entertainment Community Fund's Medal of Honor

YOSHIKI will be awarded the Medal of Honor from the US-based Entertainment Community Fund. He is the first Japanese artist to receive the award in its 116-year history.

Past recipients include Audrey Hepburn, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, and Robert Redford.

The award ceremony will be held at the fund's annual gala in New York on June 1,  2026. YOSHIKI will attend and perform.

In a statement, YOSHIKI said the award honors everyone who has supported him and artists who challenge boundaries. Entertainment Community Fund Board Chair Annette Bening stated YOSHIKI is "truly a builder of eras."

In 2025, he donated $500,000 for Los Angeles wildfire relief through the fund and other charities.

YOSHIKI recently performed a piano-driven arrangement of the US national anthem at Dodger Stadium on April 27 for the Los Angeles Dodgers' Japanese Heritage Night.

He will perform two nights of classical concerts at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on July 16 and 17, 2026. The shows, titled "Scarlet Night" and "Violet Night," will feature different programs.

Tickets and details for the Los Angeles concerts are available on the official event page.
