Go Morita Speaks on Past Struggles in New Short Hope Interview Series

The four-part YouTube interview series Short Hope premieres May 5.

Go Morita sitting in a dim room, holding his chin

In the episodes, Morita discusses his 26-year career with the idol group V6, which produced hits like 'WAになっておどろう' and '愛なんだ'. He reflects on the pressures of that period, describing a feeling of being on a pre-made path he could not deviate from.

He also speaks about a long-held tendency to suppress his feelings, developed from childhood. "I gave up thinking that what I said wouldn't be understood anyway," he says. "It became a habit not to say what I thought, to endure sadness."

He also touches on his private life, which he describes as reclusive, involving no movies or music.

Each Short Hope episode features a dramatic styling transformation based on a theme from the guest. Morita's chosen theme was "love." The styling was handled by veteran stylist Keisuke Baba, known for his work with artists like Fumiya Fujii and Kyoko Koizumi.

The Short Hope channel has previously featured interviews with actors Non (Ren'ai Nōnen), Fumiya Fujii, Yōsuke Kubozuka, and Ryōko Hirosue.

New episodes of the Go Morita feature will be released every Tuesday at 6 PM JST, starting May 5 and concluding May 26.
