Happy Sad Releases World Music Album Via Italian Label Epictronic Records

Game sound designer Hiroaki Kusano's solo project Happy Sad released a new album, 'The World is Grand When We See,' through the Italian indie label Epictronic Records. The album is available globally on streaming platforms.

The instrumental work blends folk, ambient, post-classical, and trip-hop. It incorporates traditional instruments Kusano collected during travels to ten countries, including Dubai, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Greece.

Carlo Bellotti, head of Epictronic Records, described Happy Sad as an artist with "depth, delicacy, and a clear artistic identity" who operates outside conventional songwriting frameworks.

Sound designer Ichiro Ebisu noted the music evokes vivid imagery, creating a feeling of traveling the world. Composer Atsuhiro Ishizuna pointed to the detailed scene-building skills drawn from Kusano's game design background.

Happy Sad has been active since 2013, winning a creator contest hosted by MTV and Lenovo.
