Perfect Man

There's no such thing as a perfect man
There's no such thing as a perfect man
I wish I could forgive the things I'm not and love the things I am
'Cause there's no such thing as a perfect man

If you find one smart, I bet he won't be funny
He might make more time, but I bet he don't make money
That's what I tried to tell myself while she was slipping right through my hands
There's no such thing as a perfect man

I know it won't be long 'til someone's down on one knee
She didn't ask for the world, just for more of me
I think she said something else, I wasn't listening
She's the perfect woman, everyone would agree
She deserves someone I know I could never be

'Cause there's no such thing as a perfect man
There's no such thing as a perfect man
I looked her in the eyes and lied
Said I was doing the best I can
And that I'm never gonna be the perfect man
'Cause there's no such thing as a perfect man

So now I gotta live with my regrets
'Til the day I die, I won't forget
Before she walked out the door, she looked back at me and she said

"Baby, I don't need a perfect man
'Cause I'd have to be an angel and that ain't what I am"
There's no such thing (no such thing) as a perfect man (no such thing)
Baby, don't you go believe in one (no such thing)
Who says that he can (no such thing)
'Cause there's no such thing as a perfect man
