ABEMA's Project PRISMation Hits 1 Million Views with Pilot Film

The pilot film 'Poppin-Play Kitchen' for ABEMA's Project PRISMation surpassed one million YouTube views within ten days of its January 16 premiere.

The project is a creator-focused platform aiming to produce original anime pilot films with independent or small-team animators. The name combines "PRISM" and "Animation," intended to represent a space where diverse talents converge.

The first film is by Thailand-based creator Zemyata, known for a vivid, darkly pop aesthetic. Viewer comments on YouTube praised its unique horror-pop tone.

Zemyata released a new illustration to mark the one million view milestone, commenting, "Thank you for warmly accepting it! I look forward to continuing to share this lovely plastic world with everyone."

Two subsequent works have also been released on the project's YouTube channel. On January 23, the Vietnamese creator unit rapitus—consisting of RaPis and Tus—premiered new footage for their short 'Gluttomy.'

On January 30, the Japanese animation collective Uguisu Kobo, formed by Musashino Art University graduates, released their pilot 'The Horrors' Horror Home.'

ABEMA's original anime and pop culture program 'SHIBUYA ANIME BASE' featured a segment on 'Poppin-Play Kitchen,' available for free on the ABEMA platform.

An open call for project proposals from domestic and international creators is scheduled to begin around May 2026.
