Anime 'Kimi Ai' Reveals PV, Theme Songs, July 4 Broadcast

The TV anime adaptation of the popular manga "Kimi wo Aisuru Ki wa Nai" to Itta Jiki Koushaku-sama ga Naze ka Dekiai Shite Kimasu (Kimi Ai) has released its main promotional video and second key visual. The opening and ending theme songs were also announced.

The anime is based on a romance manga by Natsu Mizuno and Kei Misawa, serialized on COMIC Polaris. The manga has sold over 2.4 million copies. The story follows Elsa Yukarainen, who enters a marriage of convenience with the future Duke Julius Royas, who coldly states he has no intention of loving her.

The new PV, set to clips of the opening and ending themes, opens with Julius's declaration. It shows the gradual shift in their relationship as Elsa's kindness affects him. Scenes hint at political maneuvering within the palace and jealousy from other characters.

The opening theme, "Itsuka Chanto.", is performed by singer-songwriter Riria. She gained attention through covers on TikTok and YouTube and previously performed the opening themes for My Happy Marriage. The ending theme, "Saishuukai" (Final Episode), is by sorato, a singer known for the ending theme of The Useless Healer Who Was Instantly Kicked Out After Showing His Treatment Power.

"I'm very happy to be in charge of the opening theme for 'Kimi Ai'," Riria commented. "I wrote 'Itsuka Chanto.' with my thoughts on Elsa and Julius in mind."

"I am sorato, in charge of the ending theme," sorato stated. "Reading the original work, I empathized with Julius's complicated inner self and was touched by Elsa's purity. While reading their story, I felt like I could create 'Saishuukai' and move forward with them."

The anime will premiere on July 4, 2026, in TV Asahi's NUMAnimation block every Saturday at 1:30 AM. It will also air on BS Asahi every Monday at 11:24 PM. The cast includes Yui Ishikawa as Elsa and Soma Saito as Julius.
