The six-track EP, titled simply 1999 - EP, stems from asa's period of self-taught production, which began in 1996. The tracklist includes "Own," characterized by its low BPM and intricate, driving percussion.

Another track, "Motian," utilizes random sampling techniques and a distorted beat texture.

Asa founded his own label, Jar-Beat Record, in 1998. His career milestones include forming the group o.n.o (tbhr) with Ichirou from Yura Yura Teikoku (2002), releasing solo albums (2006, 2008), and operating a record store in Kichijoji for 12 years until 2015.

The digital EP will be released under the Jar-BeatRecord label. It is available for pre-save and will stream on major platforms via the official link.
