Netflix Anime 'Super Kaguyahime!' Extends Theatrical Run, Adds MV Screening

The Netflix-original anime film Super Kaguyahime! is extending its limited theatrical run in Japan and expanding to more theaters. Starting February 27, a special music video will screen after the film.

The film, directed by Kengo Yamashita, premiered on Netflix globally on January 22. It is produced by Studio Colorido and Yamashita's own Studio Chromato. The soundtrack features songs from notable Vocaloid producers including ryo (supercell), kz (livetune), 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra, and yuigot.

Following its streaming debut, the film topped Netflix's daily movie charts in Japan and appeared in the weekly top 10 in over 15 countries. A one-week theatrical event began on February 20, with many screenings selling out immediately and prompting additional showtimes.

The special post-credits feature is the "ray Super Kaguyahime! Version" music video, directed by Yamashita with new animation that expands on the film's story. The MV has surpassed 5 million views on YouTube since its release last month.
