Tokyo Cosmo Cats' 'CHARISMA' Wins Triple Honors at MUSE Creative Awards

The cross-cultural music video "CHARISMA," produced by the creative team Tokyo Cosmo Cats, has won three awards at the MUSE Creative Awards 2026. Blending Japanese and Egyptian cultural elements, the project received Platinum Awards in the Video Art and Design and Video Music Video categories, as well as a Gold Award in the Video Cultural category.

This achievement follows its double win of Platinum and Gold at the Tokyo Design Awards 2026. The work has also surpassed 5.5 million views worldwide.

"CHARISMA" combines Middle Eastern hip-hop and reggaeton influences with traditional Japanese instruments such as the shamisen, integrating both music and visual expression. Tap dance and saxophone performances are also incorporated into the piece.

The music video was filmed at Sarue Shrine in Koto City, Tokyo, blending a historic setting with modern lighting design. Performers include shamisen artist Shinobu Kawashima, saxophonist Harume Imai, and tap dancer Miumi Nakagawa, all appearing in traditional Japanese attire.

The project spans both music and visual disciplines, with particular recognition given to its visual concept design and direction.

The production team, centered around Tokyo Cosmo Cats, includes Producer Mairu Kikuchi, Director Asami Tomatsuri, Cinematographer Daiki Tomita, Lighting Director Masaya Kotabe, Editor Kosuke Yoshii, Photographer Osho Maeda, and Ukiyo-e artist Ryota Okamura. The work stands as a fully integrated piece combining music, visual storytelling, and art.
