Anime 'Nippon Sangoku' Sets Prime Video Premiere, Kitani Tatsuya Theme Song

The upcoming anime adaptation of the manga 'Nippon Sangoku' will premiere globally on Prime Video on April 5, 2026. Studio Kafka released a new key visual and a second trailer featuring the opening theme song.

The opening theme, 'Hidane,' will be performed by Kitani Tatsuya, known for his song 'Ao no Sumika' and for writing for artists like LiSA and SUPER EIGHT.

The series is based on Ikka Matsuki's manga (over 700,000 copies sold) and is set in a future where Japan has fractured into three warring states. The story follows bureaucrat Sankaku Seiki as he uses his intellect and oratory skills to pursue national reunification.

The second trailer introduces new characters and voice actors. Jun Fukuyama joins the cast as Asama Yoshitsune, alongside Yūichi Nakamura, Taito Kimura, and Minami Tsuda.

Kevin Penkin is composing the series' music. The anime is co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
