Azur Lane 9th Anniversary Song 'BLUE SIGNAL' Features Virtual Singer Kafu

The mobile game Azur Lane has released a new 9th-anniversary song titled "BLUE SIGNAL." The track is performed by virtual singer Kafu and is now available on major music streaming platforms.

The song was first announced during the "AZUR LANE MUSI9 FES." event in Shinjuku. It marks Kafu's first collaboration with the game. The lyrics and composition are a joint effort between Kanata Okajima and Shuya Masayoshi, with arrangement by Shuya Masayoshi.

Kafu described "BLUE SIGNAL" as a song that evokes a vast blue seascape and horizon. She noted the lyrics contain several wordplay elements that offer a different impression when read alongside listening.

The official music video premiered on the Azur Lane YouTube channel and Niconico.

An interview with Kafu and Kanata Okajima discussing the song's production will be published soon on Yostar's owned media site, Yostar Plus.

Kafu is the inaugural virtual singer for KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, debuting in 2018 at age 14. She has over 1 million YouTube subscribers and 300 million total views. Her 2024 "Kai-ka" concert at Yoyogi National Gymnasium set a new scale record for a virtual singer's solo arena show.

Lyricist and composer Kanata Okajima has worked on over 900 songs for artists including BTS, TWICE, Ado, and Kafu. She has contributed to 190 Oricon number-one singles and won a Japan Record Award for Excellence.

"BLUE SIGNAL" is available on streaming services via a universal link. The game Azur Lane is a free-to-play side-scrolling shooter RPG available globally on Android and iOS.
