Bajune Tobeta releases 'Mas Que Nada' with Sergio Mendes's family

Producer Bajune Tobeta has released a new single, 'Mas Que Nada (feat. Black Prez & Marianna Leporace).' The track features Gracinha Leporace, the late Sergio Mendes's wife and musical partner of five decades.

The recording took place at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions studio in Los Angeles. Marianna Leporace provides backing vocals, while rapper Black Prez adds a contemporary verse.

The first single, 'Batucada (feat. Lisa Ono),' was released on July 29. The full tribute album is scheduled for release on September 4, the day before the anniversary of Mendes's passing in 2024.

Bajune Tobeta began his career working under Ryuichi Sakamoto. His production credits include collaborations with Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takahashi, Taeko Onuki, and international artists like Christian Fennesz and Arto Lindsay.
