Chimpui Anime Short Soundtrack Released Worldwide

The original soundtrack for the new short anime 'Chimpui: Eri-sama's Good Luck' is now available for streaming and download worldwide. The soundtrack release coincides with the 40th anniversary of the manga 'Chimpui'.

The soundtrack was composed by Soshi it, an MC and trackmaker for the internationally active group Dos Monos. It includes nine instrumental tracks, a full-length cover of the 1989-91 TV anime ending theme 'Cinderella Nanka ni Naritakunai', and a special remix by Soshi it.

The ending theme is performed by the short's voice cast: Misaki Kuno as Chimpui, Megumi Han as Eri, and Yoko Hikasa as Mama. The original song was composed by Tsuyoshi Ike with lyrics by Sakiko Iwamuro.

Soshi it described the creative process as playful, involving frequent visits to the director's home to create music. The composer of the original theme song, Tsuyoshi Ike, encouraged Soshi it to 'play to the fullest' when creating the remix.

Voice actress Megumi Han expressed surprise and gratitude that the in-show music would be released. She called the soundtrack colorful, like a toy box or closet.

Misaki Kuno, the voice of Chimpui, said she was happy the day to hear the soundtrack had arrived.

The 'Chimpui: Eri-sama's Good Luck' short is currently screening at the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum in Kawasaki until June 21, 2026. The soundtrack, catalog number COKM-46124, is distributed by Nippon Columbia.
