Daken's 'The Merchant Banished by His Party Saves the World with Money' Gets Anime Adaptation

The popular light novel series 'The Merchant Banished by His Party Saves the World with Money' by author Daken has been greenlit for a TV anime adaptation. The announcement was made on July 31, 2026, the same day its manga serialization launched on the webcomic site Comic PASH!neo.

Anime character design for Trao, the merchant protagonist

The story follows Trao, a merchant in the S-rank adventuring party Blue Ring. He is expelled after his party discovers he has been secretly funding a junior, all-female party called Garnet. After his departure, Trao warns his former comrades that a demon lord subjugation is premature. They ignore him, join the operation, and are wiped out. Trao then joins Garnet to pursue the demon lord, with their first job being to recover equipment from the corpses of his old party.

"It's quite rare for a manga serialization and anime adaptation to be announced simultaneously," Daken said.

Anime character design for Lilia, the warrior leader of Garnet

The anime's key character designs for Trao and the members of Garnet—leader Lilia, priestess Ririsu, and mage Dominik—were also revealed. The manga adaptation is illustrated by Sen Azumayama, with original character designs by Bentchi Kano and composition by Masahiro Itosugi.

The original light novel is published under the PASH! Bunko imprint, and the manga adaptation is serialized on Comic PASH!neo.
