Fantasy Romance Manga 'The Substitute Bride' Gets Anime Adaptation in July 2026

The popular fantasy romance manga The Substitute Bride Was Saved by the Cold-Hearted Ice Prince's Love will premiere as a TV anime in July 2026. The production committee released the first teaser promotional video and announced the main cast.

Miku Itou will voice the heroine, Katrina. Itou is known for roles including Miku Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets and Shinobu Amatsuki in Midnight Heart Tune.

Youhei Azakami will voice the male lead, Clarence. Azakami recently won the Supporting Actor Award at the 18th Seiyu Awards and is known for his role as Gyro Zeppeli in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run.

The manga has surpassed 1.5 million downloads on digital platforms.

The original manga, written by Yakiimo Hokuhoku and illustrated by Kurokawa Kusabi, is serialized under FanGuild's isekai fantasy label, comic Spira.

A commemorative X campaign will run from May 18 to 31, offering signed shikishi boards from the main cast.

The manga's third volume goes on sale in Japan on May 18. The series is available digitally on platforms including LINE Manga, Piccoma, Comic CMOA, and Mecha Comic.

The anime will begin broadcasting on tvk (TV Kanagawa) in July 2026.
