Lyric video released for Netflix anime film 'Cho-Kaguyahime!'

The lyric video for 'Ex-Otogibanashi', the main theme of the Netflix original anime film 'Cho-Kaguyahime!', is now available. The song is performed by Saori Hayami as the character Yachiyo Tsukimi.

The film is a collaboration between Studio Colorido and the newly formed Studio Chromat.

Its soundtrack features contributions from major Vocaloid producers including ryo (supercell), kz (livetune), 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra, and yuigot.

The film premiered globally on Netflix in late 2025. Before its release, its teaser topped YouTube's trending movies chart and surpassed 15 million views across social media. It later reached number one on Netflix's daily movie chart in Japan and charted in multiple international regions.

A limited theatrical run in Japan began on February 20, 2026. It drew 148,067 attendees over its opening weekend.

The story follows high school student Ayaha Sakayori. Her life changes when she discovers a baby who rapidly grows into a teenage girl named Kaguya. Ayaha becomes Kaguya's producer in the virtual world Tsukuyomi, helping her become a popular streamer.

The voice cast includes Yuko Natsuyoshi as Kaguya, Anna Nagase as Ayaha, and Saori Hayami as Yachiyo. Supporting roles feature Miyu Irino, Yuma Uchida, Yoshino Aoyama, and Konomi Kohara.

The film's theatrical run in Japan has been extended. Starting February 27, screenings will include a post-credits music video for the ending theme 'ray (Cho-Kaguyahime! Version)'.
