Manananggals to Release Cover Album 'Playmates and Training'

Manananggals will release their cover album 'Playmates and Training' on January 17, 2026. The album features six tracks, including covers of The Velvet Underground, Norma Tanega, and Flamin' Groovies.

Recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, the album includes international collaborations with artists such as Margareth, known for her appearances on OnlyHits Japan radio, and Etsuko from The Pebbles. The album was recorded in various locations including Kobe, Himeji, Tokyo, Manila, and Cebu.

Two tracks by The Velvet Underground, including 'Sunday Morning', are covered in Japanese. Eddie Corman provided the translation for 'Sunday Morning'.

Manananggals, led by So-Itchy (Soichi Yokoyama), last released an album in 2020 with 'PSYNOGALA', which gained attention on indie charts and media coverage. The album will be available on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
