MISIA Launches New Single 'Yoru o Wataru Tori' During Tour Kickoff

MISIA premiered a new song at the opening of her 'STARTS presents MISIA Hoshizora no Live XIII GRAND HORIZON' tour in Iwate. The digital single 'Yoru o Wataru Tori' (Night-Crossing Bird), the theme for the WOWOW and Lemino drama series 'Hokuhou Kensan Suikoden', will be released on February 15.

MISIA performed the track in a black and red rose-themed outfit designed by Takahiro Miyashita for the tour. The concert series, which began January 24-25 at Morioka Takaya Arena, features a 24-piece band including strings and a horn section led by longtime collaborator Takuya Kuroda.

The tour production includes 12 ballet dancers and 3 hip-hop dancers. Costumes are sourced from the Paris collections of designer Kei Ninomiya's 'noir kei ninomiya' label, selected by Ninomiya himself.

During the show, MISIA also performed a surprise new song written for the tour, 'Taiyou no Parade' (Parade of the Sun). The setlist spanned 26 songs, including 'Ashita e', a track originally released after the 2011 earthquake. The tour will visit eight venues across Japan through May 3.
