Naruto Launches Global 'Project Rasengan' with New Anime, Manga, and Games

At New York Comic Con, TV Tokyo and the Naruto production committee announced a major global initiative for the franchise, titled "Project Rasengan."

The centerpiece is a new four-episode anime crossover between Naruto and Ninkū, a series that influenced Masashi Kishimoto's work. Original creators Masashi Kishimoto and Kōshi Gōyama will supervise the story. Series veterans, including director Hiroyuki Yamashita and character designer Tetsuya Nishio, are returning.

Masashi Kishimoto will also write a new Naruto manga.

On the gaming front, Bandai announced a new Naruto trading card game for global simultaneous release in June 2027. Demo deck campaigns and preview events will begin in February. The hit Chinese mobile battle-action game, Naruto Mobile, is also confirmed for a worldwide release.

Further announcements for Project Rasengan are scheduled for Jump Festa 2027 in December.
