Netflix Releases 'Super Kaguya-Hime!' with Exclusive Artwork from Top Creators

The anime film 'Super Kaguya-Hime!' is now exclusively streaming worldwide on Netflix as of January 22, 2026. Directed by Shingo Yamashita, known for his work on 'Jujutsu Kaisen' and 'Chainsaw Man' openings, this marks his first feature-length directorial project. The trailer ranked first on YouTube's 'Trending Movies' chart with over 15M views by November.

The film features music by Vocaloid producers ryo (supercell), kz (livetune), and HoneyWorks. Set in the virtual world of Tsukuyomi, it showcases high-quality animation and dynamic 3D camera work, portraying the bonds between girls connected by music. Animation production is a collaboration between Studio Colorido, known for 'Penguin Highway', and the newly formed Studio Chromato led by Yamashita.

In support of the release, notable manga creators including Masashi Kishimoto ('Naruto'), Gege Akutami ('Jujutsu Kaisen'), and Tatsuki Fujimoto ('Chainsaw Man') have contributed exclusive illustrations and comments.

The story follows Ayaha Sakayori, a 17-year-old high school student balancing her studies and part-time job. Her solace is the virtual realm of Tsukuyomi, where she follows the popular streamer Yachiyo Tsukimi. An unexpected encounter with a mysterious baby transforms her life, leading to a partnership with the reincarnated Kaguya-Hime in the virtual world.

The voice cast includes Yuko Natsuyoshi as Kaguya and Anna Nagase as Ayaha, with Saori Hayami voicing Yachiyo. The main theme 'Ex-Otogibanashi' is performed by Yachiyo (voiced by Saori Hayami), and the ending theme 'ray Super Kaguya-Hime! Version' features Kaguya and Yachiyo.
