Netflix Series 'Kenka Dokugaku' Reveals Main Trailer and Cast

The live-action Netflix adaptation of the popular webtoon 'Kenka Dokugaku' (Self-Taught Fighting) will premiere on June 11, 2026. The main trailer and key art were released alongside a list of additional cast members.

The series is based on the LINE Manga webtoon by storywriter PTJ cartoon company and artist Kim Jung-hyun (romanized as Kim Jeong-hyeon). The original work has over 22.8 billion global views. It was previously adapted into a TV anime in 2024.

New cast members include Airu Umemiya as Kahona Asamiya, Noritaka Hamao as Tatsuya Oogi, and Kentaro Maeda as Reo Shinjo. They join a cast led by Oji Suzuka as the protagonist, Kota Shimura. Veteran actors Yusuke Iseya, Gaku Sano, Yoshinori Ohtsuru, and Tsurutaro Kataoka also appear.

Original creator T.Jun commented on the adaptation, praising the cast's physical action scenes and performances that felt "like they jumped right out of the manga." Artist Kim Jung-hyun said seeing the characters he designed come to life through the actors was a profound experience.

The series is directed by Hideki Takeuchi, with a script by Yuichi Tokunaga. Music is by Face 2 fAKE.

The story follows Kota Shimura, a poor and weak high school student who starts a video channel about fighting. After struggling, he finds a secret channel that teaches him how to fight, and he begins to learn through self-study. As he grows stronger, the school's social hierarchy begins to invert.

'Kenka Dokugaku' will stream exclusively worldwide on Netflix.
