OTOGULA LIVE Final Audition Streams Globally May 16 for Japan Festival Canada

The final live audition to select two artists for Japan Festival Canada takes place May 16 in Osaka. The event will be streamed internationally, with fan voting open to audiences in Japan and Canada.

Japan Festival Canada is held near Toronto. In August 2026, the festival's main stage will feature artists from OTOGULA Kansai for the first time.

The selection process began with 161 entries. Six finalists will perform at the live audition on May 16 at Soap opera classics-Umeda in Osaka. Two winners will secure a performance slot at the festival in Mississauga on August 15-16.

The live stream allows fans in both countries to participate in the selection through a fan vote. Tickets for the in-person event in Osaka are available through TIGET until May 15.

The six competing artists are Sprigal, GOBAMYU, Marutake Ebisu, Shin Tokyo (New Tokyo), 5%BERMUDA, and Alice Peralta.

Alice Peralta, a vocalist with 15 years of experience including voice work for Splatoon, is a finalist.

The festival typically draws over 120,000 attendees across two days. OTOGULA Kansai, operated by the Osaka Zashiki Foundation, has a platform of over 18,000 fans and 1,000 registered artists.
