Plott Announces Short Anime 'Rakuraku Hanten' for YouTube

Production company Plott will release a new short anime series, Rakuraku Hanten, on YouTube in late September 2026. The series follows Tenma, a lonely protagonist who finds himself working at a Chinese restaurant in '99th Street' that serves as a front for a mafia family.

To get closer to a man named Mugoku, Tenma must pass a test to join the family.

Character designs are by illustrator Amon Nikkei, known for an 'Asian chaos' aesthetic. The main scenario writer is Mikiyasu Kamata, the original creator of the manga Coulomb's Ball Parade.

"The Asian worldview resonated with my style," Amon Nikkei said.

The voice cast includes Yukihiro Yoshikawa as the straightforward protagonist Tenma, Yu Gimura as the cool ex-assassin Shia, Tsubasa Sasa as the small-statured swordsman Paoran, and Takuya Masumoto as the mysterious healer Gao.

Chikahiro Kobayashi plays the enigmatic family head Rei, Ai Kobana voices the free-spirited assassin Chaomei, and Tomokazu Seki takes the role of Mugoku, the man at the top of the underworld.

The teaser trailer is now available on YouTube. The series will be distributed globally on the official Rakuraku Hanten YouTube channel.
