TV Anime 'Tenmaku no Jaadugar' Reveals Main Visual, PV, SEKAI NO OWARI Opening Theme

The upcoming TV anime 'Tenmaku no Jaadugar' has released its main promotional visual and a second preview video. The series will feature a new song, "Stella," by SEKAI NO OWARI as its opening theme.

The anime is based on the award-winning historical manga by Tomato Soup, serialized in Akita Shoten's 'Souffle.' Set in the 13th-century Mongol Empire, the story follows a young woman named Sitara who loses everything to the empire's expansion. Using her wits, she infiltrates the royal court seeking revenge.

Science SARU, known for 'Dandadan,' 'Heike Monogatari,' and 'Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!,' is handling animation production. The main visual, drawn by character designer Kenichi Yoshida, depicts the two protagonists against the vast Mongolian landscape.

The newly released second PV introduces key historical figures: Genghis Khan's sons Jochi, Chagatai, and Ogedei, as well as the co-protagonist, Ogedei's sixth wife Dregene.

SEKAI NO OWARI's "Stella" was composed by Nakajin with lyrics by Fukase. The manga's author, Tomato Soup, relayed the band's comment that the track felt like it was written with the protagonists' hearts in mind.

A second wave of cast members was also announced. Ami Koshimizu will voice Dregene. Hiro Shimono plays Ogedei. Daisuke Namikawa is Chagatai. Kenji Nojima voices Jochi.

Each actor provided a comment. Koshimizu focused on portraying Dregene's hidden fragility. Shimono noted the enjoyment of playing a character with layers beyond his initially fluffy, alcohol-loving demeanor. Namikawa highlighted the series' depiction of rarely seen cultures and customs. Nojima pointed to the contrast between the story's harsh realities and its delicate, picture-book-like visual style.

The anime will premiere on July 4, 2026, on TV Asahi's network and BS Asahi, with a special one-hour broadcast of the first two episodes. Regular episodes will air weekly on Saturdays at 11:30 PM.

A 'world premiere' screening event for the first three episodes is scheduled for June 13 at United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba in Tokyo. Tickets go on general sale via eplus on May 30.

The series is directed by Abel Gongora, with series composition by Kanichi Katō and music by Koshiro Hino. The official website and X (Twitter) accounts for both domestic and international promotion are now live.
