TV Special to Preview SUMMER SONIC 2026 Festival

A television special previewing the SUMMER SONIC 2026 music festival will air in Japan on May 23. The 30-minute program will feature an interview with festival organizer Naoki Shimizu.

The special, titled 'Samasoni Tokushuu' on TV Asahi, will be hosted by Sascha, the longtime MC of the festival's Marine Stage. Assistant announcer Suzuki Sarasara will also appear.

Shimizu will share behind-the-scenes stories about booking headliners The Strokes and Ado, as well as acts including L’Arc-en-Ciel, BABYMETAL, and first-time SUMMER SONIC performer BUMP OF CHICKEN.

SUMMER SONIC 2026 is scheduled for August 14-16 at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Chiba. Three-day passes are priced at 59,000 yen.

The TV special airs at 3:00 AM JST on May 23. It will be available for streaming on TVer after the broadcast.
