The anime will air Sundays at 7:00 AM on TV Tokyo and its affiliate stations. The production is handled by Akatsuki Media Studio, with direction by Tomi Hino and scripts by Rika Kihara.

A key visual was released featuring the tanuki and fox characters sharing rice balls, accompanied by the tagline "Every day is special just being with you." The image includes other characters like rabbits, a bear, and a wolf.

Author Atamoto commented on the adaptation. "This is thanks to everyone who has supported us," Atamoto said. "The anime staff has created a world that's even more lively and cute than the original."

A new manga volume, Tanuki to Kitsune Yurutto 2, is scheduled for release on October 15, 2026. The volume will include 61 pages of new, original content featuring childhood stories and other adventures.

The anime's official website and X (formerly Twitter) account are now active.
