Teaser PV, Visuals Released for 'Reborn as a Fat Villainess' Anime

The popular isekai manga Reborn as a Fat Villainess, Why is the Final Boss Prince Obsessed with Me? has released its first teaser promotional video and key character visuals.

The teaser PV debuted at AnimeJapan 2026. The event featured voice actors Haruka Shiraishi (Celine) and Takeo Otsuka (Wilfred).

The story follows a woman who dies from illness and is reborn as Celine, the overweight and selfish villainess sister of a popular novel's heroine. To avoid her miserable fate, she vows to reform herself. Her efforts lead her to save a man named Wilfred, who becomes obsessively attached to her.

Director Naoyuki Kuzuya described his first impression of the source material as a "pure story" that defies expectations from its title.

Series composer and scriptwriter Koji Hirota framed the story as a "yandere pure love fantasy." He described the story as exploring whether "obsession exists because of love, or love exists because of obsession."

Character designers Fumino Kakihata and Yukiko Sekita commented on their roles. Sekita, who designed the younger versions, said she aimed to express a "cute, chubby little girl."

Composer Tsubasa Ito said the project contains elements he enjoys, including: a fantasy noble world, a positive protagonist facing adversity, and slightly intense romantic feelings.

A dedicated TikTok account for the anime has also launched. The original manga, which has over 70 million downloads, is currently publishing its second season digitally. More information is available on the official anime website.
