Voice AI Project 'Soyogi Fractal' Releases Cover of Yumi Arai Classic

Yuki Kaji's voice AI project, Soyogi Fractal, has released a new music video. The AI character Bon Soyogi covers Yumi Arai's 1974 song "Yasashisa ni Tsutsumareta nara." The track is known internationally as the ending theme for Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service.

The cover was produced following Kaji's appearance on a radio program hosted by Masataka Matsutoya, Yumi Arai's husband and a noted music producer. Matsutoya, who recently produced an album using voice AI technology himself, provided commentary on the project. Illustrator Utabō, known for detailed scenery and character expressions, created the artwork for the MV. Koshi-kun, known for work on Hypnosis Mic, handled video direction.

The Soyogi Fractal project, launched for Kaji's 20th anniversary, uses the AI vocal software Bon Soyogi. Kaji describes it as a "co-creative" partnership with AI.

A 3D entertainment live event, Soyogi EXPO, is scheduled for March 8, 2026, at Tokyo Garden Theater. A compilation album titled 0rigin, featuring 18 tracks created for the event, is now available on streaming platforms. The contributing artists include Hiroyuki Sawano, Revo of Sound Horizon/Linked Horizon, Kohta Yamamoto, and UNISON SQUARE GARDEN's Tomoya Tabase.
