The Top 40 J-POP songs - Week 05 of 2026 – Only Hits Japan Charts

This week’s top 40 is defined by seismic shifts and fresh arrivals. King Gnu holds firm at #1 with “AIZO” for a second week, but the real story is the unprecedented climb of CHANMINA’s “TEST ME,” rocketing from 28 to 2. Close behind, jo0ji’s “よあけのうた” makes a major jump from 13 to 3. The highest new entry is milet’s “The Story of Us”, debuting at #5.
Momentum continues with several standout ascents. XG’s “GALA” surges from 38 to 6, and rookie group ILLIT sees “Sunday Morning” rise from 20 to 7. These gains displace recent staples, with Kenshi Yonezu’s “IRIS OUT” (4), YOASOBI’s “BABY” (8) and “アドレナ” (9), and AiNA THE END’s long-running “革命道中” (10) all experiencing modest declines.

The chart welcomes a strong wave of new entries beyond the top 10. Ado’s “soldier game” enters at 11, followed by XG’s “HYPNOTIZE” at 12 and natori’s “セレナーデ” at 16. Further down, we see debuts from THREEE (25), ano (27), yama (32), and 乃紫 (35). The re-entry of PornoGraffitti’s “THE REVO” at 19 also catches the eye.

Several established tracks face notable slides. Songs from Ado (“MAGIC,” 13; “Odoru Ponpokorin,” 14) and a significant drop for 花冷え。’s “ICONIC” (from 8 to 23) indicate high turnover. Re-entries from WurtS (26) and Fujii Kaze’s “Hachikō” (36) add to a dynamic and competitive lower half of the ranking.
