AI-Generated Anime 'Oiran Reincarnation' Premieres on YouTube October 2

The AI-generated original anime series 花魁転生 -Oiran Reincarnation- will premiere its first episode on YouTube on October 2 at 21:00 JST. The production company Puente released visuals and profiles for the series' nine main characters today.

The series follows a modern-day student, Uesugi Akito, who is transported to Edo-period Japan and finds his soul inhabiting the body of Kureha Dayu, the top courtesan of the Yoshiwara district. The series is described as a "Japanese-style reincarnation action." Each episode will be approximately three minutes long, accompanied by a 30-second short.

The theme song, "紅の羽衣" (Kurenai no Hagoromo), was written and performed by lo-fi artist Mellow, who has over 1.82 million YouTube subscribers. The song was created specifically for the series.

The entire production—from character design and artwork to direction—was created using Puente's generative AI pipeline.

The series will run for 12 episodes, with new installments premiering every Friday at 21:00 JST. The second promotional short video was also released today.

The premiere of Episode 1 will be a YouTube Premiere event.
