Black petrol releases second album 'Diaspora' after five years

The Kyoto-based band Black petrol has released its second full album, "Diaspora."

The album blends current UK jazz and electronic music. It blends live instruments with programmed beats for a club-oriented sound.

Australian indie R&B singer PERSIA features on the title track. The track has been added to main playlists in nine Asian countries outside Japan.

The music video for the lead single "TURN" is also out. Band members directed the video themselves.

Black petrol is currently on a club tour in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto to promote the album. The tour runs through April 25.

The band, formed in Kyoto, has performed at Fuji Rock Festival and Summer Sonic, and at festivals in China, Thailand, and Taiwan. They are scheduled to play at LaLaLa Festival in Jakarta this August.
