BoA Announces First Japanese Mini-Album in 8 Years, Self-Produced 'Ayumi'

BoA will release her first Japanese-original mini-album in eight years, titled 'Ayumi', on November 4 digitally, followed by a CD release on November 25. The artist announced the news herself during the final show of her 'BoA the LIVE' tour in Yokohama on September 20.

'Ayumi' marks BoA's first self-produced work since her 2010 album 'IDENTITY'. She contributed to the lyrics and composition of the original Japanese songs and handled production for the six-track project.

The mini-album will be released in three CD editions: a first-press limited edition, an alternate jacket edition, and a standard edition. Pre-orders for the physical CDs began on September 20 at 8 PM Japan time. Retailer-specific purchase bonuses include a clear file from mu-mo shop and a mega jacket from Amazon Japan; the artwork for these bonuses will be revealed later.

Track titles, jacket photos, and detailed specifications for each edition are pending announcement.

BoA debuted in Japan in 2001. She was the first Korean artist to achieve six consecutive number-one albums on the Oricon weekly chart.
