Crypton opens global song contest for Hatsune Miku's Magical Mirai 2027

Crypton Future Media is seeking original songs for Hatsune Miku's 2027 Magical Mirai festival. The winning track will be performed live at the event series next year.

The Magical Mirai 2027 Song Contest is open to creators worldwide. Entrants must submit an original song featuring one of Crypton's Vocaloid characters: Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO, or KAITO.

Submissions are accepted via the piapro website until December 14, 2026. There are no restrictions on genre, theme, or the creator's professional status.

The grand prize winner will have their song performed during the live shows in 2027. The prize package includes a pair of tickets to the event where the song debuts, one Crypton Vocaloid software of choice, and 100,000 yen in SONICWIRE points. Travel costs are the winner's responsibility.

Several runners-up will also receive 30,000 yen in SONICWIRE points. Winners will be announced around March 2027.

Last year's festival drew over 90,000 attendees across three cities. The winning song from the 2026 contest was performed at each venue.
