The performance was originally held within the VRChat platform at the Virtual Sanrio Puroland. Its debut in February drew approximately 27,000 concurrent users, setting a record for the venue. The event concluded on March 8.

The film 'Chou Kaguya-hime!' is an original Netflix animation directed by Seigo Yamashita. Its soundtrack features songs from notable Vocaloid producers including ryo (supercell), kz(livetune), 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra, and yuigot.

After premiering on Netflix, the film began a theatrical run in Japan on February 20. Screenings have consistently sold out, leading to an expansion from 19 to over 100 theaters. It has ranked within the top 10 of national weekend box office charts for three consecutive weeks.

A separate crowdfunding project to recreate the film's virtual world, "Tsukuyomi," within VRChat met its initial goal in one hour. It has since surpassed 1,000% of its target, unlocking additional 3D character models and costumes.

'Chou Kaguya-hime!' is streaming globally on Netflix. The official performance video is on YouTube.
