Laiqa releases debut EP 'Me for Me'

Laiqa has released her first EP, 'Me for Me', digitally.

Production was handled by three members of the Tokyo-based creative collective w.a.u: Kota Matsukawa, Ryuju Tanoue, and Koki Furukawa.

A music video for the title track premiered on YouTube at 21:00 JST on the release day.

"The person closest to you is yourself," Laiqa said in a statement. "I returned to the phrase 'Me for Me' many times while making this EP. I'm always me for me, and you're you for you."

The lead track, "中今 (Naka Ima)", is a song she first wrote in high school. Producer Kota Matsukawa noted it was the first full project w.a.u had been entrusted with.

The EP is available on global streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music via the universal link.
