Masaharu Fukuyama releases 'Supernova', first new album in nearly six years

Masaharu Fukuyama releases his 13th original album, "Supernova," on September 9.

The 18-track album includes songs tied to several major Japanese films and dramas released since 2021. These are "Kaiso" from the film "At the Hill Where That Flower Blooms, If I Meet You Again," "Jupiter feat. Koji Inaba" (B'z) from the film "Last Man -FIRST LOVE-", and "Ryuu" from the film "New Interpretation: Bakumatsu Den." The album also features the drama theme "Hakushu Kassai" and two newly written songs, "SUPERNOVA" and "Ushukubeha."

A bonus piano version of "Hakushu Kassai" is included.

The limited "Live Video Edition" contains footage from two major concerts. It includes his 35th-anniversary dome tour, filmed with 58 cameras at PayPay Dome Fukuoka, and selections from his 2026 "WE'RE BROS. TOUR" at Nippon Budokan. Two non-sale guitar picks are also enclosed.

Two separate limited "Best Album" editions accompany the release. "New-Recording Best Album 1990-1999" features 15 tracks from the 1990s re-recorded in a studio-live format with longtime band members. "New-Mix&Remastering Best Album 2000-2020" offers 15 tracks from 2000-2020 with new mixes, arrangements, and mastering. Both include bonus documentary or music video content.
