Minori Chihara releases 'No tears here' for anime 'Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku restart'

Minori Chihara releases the opening theme for the TV anime 'Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku restart' on October 6. The song, titled 'No tears here,' will be available digitally at midnight JST, two hours before the first episode airs.

This is Chihara's first anime theme song since becoming an independent artist. The release is handled directly by her team, bypassing a record label.

The song was produced with lyricist Aki Hata and composer Q-MHz. It is a heavy rock track featuring loud guitars and a driving pace, with moments of melancholy.

In a statement, Chihara linked the anime's themes to her own career. "In the original work, there is a line about 'magical girls who fight' and 'magical girls who don't fight,' and that the latter are not necessarily weak," she said. "I thought that might apply to me as well. I have my own songs, and sometimes willpower can outweigh pure ability."

The cover art was illustrated by Maruino, the original character designer for the 'Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku' series. It depicts Chihara as if she were a character within the anime's world.

The anime 'Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku restart' is a new series launching ten years after the first season. It will air on TV Tokyo and other channels starting October 5, with streaming on U-NEXT and other platforms.

Chihara is known for voicing characters such as Yuki Nagato in 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya' and Kotori Itsuka in 'Date A Live.'

The digital single 'No tears here' is available via this link, which directs to major streaming platforms.
