Nao Yoshioka will release a new single, "Safe Place," on June 5. The track is a collaboration with Chicago-based poet and singer Jamila Woods.

Peter CottonTale, the Grammy-winning producer and music director for Chance The Rapper's album 'Coloring Book,' handled production. The song was recorded in Chicago.

Yoshioka wrote the song after being inspired by Jamila Woods's track "Holy" during a period of isolation while writing at Lake Yamanaka near Mount Fuji.

"The song is a declaration of becoming your own safe place," Yoshioka said. "It's about being your own biggest ally." She described Woods's voice as adding "warmth and a sense of an independent woman's strength" to the track.

The single is the second release from Yoshioka's upcoming album, scheduled for this summer. It follows the previously released "In the Rain."

The artist also announced a series of Japanese tour dates for October 2026 under the "self" World Tour banner. Shows are scheduled for Fukuoka, Tokyo, Osaka, and Hokkaido.
