NIGHT OWL releases 'Koukiatsu na Fragrance' featuring Uta

Producer Shingo Yasumoto's culture project NIGHT OWL released its second single, 'Koukiatsu na Fragrance (Feat. Uta)', on September 16. The track is a hybrid electro-dance tune with jazz elements.

Uta, a 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist and producer who studied at Berklee College of Music, provides vocals. The collaboration began three years ago when Uta, then 18, sent a demo to Yasumoto's radio show.

The music video, directed by Mani Kato, was also released. It features a rotating, fantastical living room set that transforms into a beach scene, synchronized with the track's progression. Scenes include Yasumoto playing vintage synthesizers like a Prophet-5 and an ARP2600FS.
